15 more Laptops for the LRC

In 2026 we were again asked to help provide some laptops for the LRC. Another 15 were needed to both replace and boost their supplies, and to help roll out educational support to an even greater number of students than ever before.

This includes support to students who require use of an approved laptop to enable them to undertake an exam. 

After taking some advice on board, we agreed to support the purchase of 15 Lenovo Thinbook laptops at a cost of just over £7,000. Ideal for students, these laptops are built to withstand the knocks and drops of a classroom, and with a 14-inch screen and 9 hours of battery life were considered the best option for both daily maximum use and suitability. 

We appreciate that this will be an ongoing and costly expense for Reading School, since equipment such as laptops only ever really have a few years lifespan.
